CORPORAL PUNISHMENT CASE IN COURT
In Mongar, a boy regularly bullies and beats up smaller students, steals their flowers, disobeys teachers. In frustration the Principal beats him up and the case ends up in court.
Assignment: Read the full article in Kuensel and deconstruct cause and effect. What would be the responsibilities of the student, parent, teacher, principal and MOE in this picture? Is the student's behavior a result of bad parenting or school neglect? Is the Principal's action just a hangover from the brutal days of yore or a side effect of modern frustrations from today's youth and finicky regulations? Now that the case is in court, is it acceptable for the authorities to simply dump the principal at the mercy of 'the rule of law' or should changes be made in our system, burden shared with education system and parents etc?

  1. i feel everybody should be equally responsible esp the parents coz it all depends upon the way they brought up the child........m sure there must be a big reason for the principal to take that action........bullying small children is againt the school code of ethicts..........nd now that the case is already in the court i want justice to be done with the right person
